No One Should Feel Unloved

There is so much turmoil in our world. We look around us at the way sin causes heartache every second of the day. I hear people’s voices and see the post, “Lord, come quickly.” I understand why; eternity with our Lord is going to be AMAZING!! We are weary and heartbroken over the consequences of sinful behavior. So often, we desire a way out….just take us to heaven!! But if Jesus returns today, who, whom you love, will be lost? I have too many people in my life that need more time. Then I realized that it is also “self-centered” thinking. Am I just concerned about the loss in “my circle”?

As I look around me on my journey through life, I see people who seem to be walking through life alone, and it hurts my heart!

  • A young woman with a handful of children and no Daddy in the picture, struggling to just get through the day. She feels alone and unloved.

  • A senior citizen sitting in his wheelchair was pushed into a corner in his senior living home. He feels alone and unloved.

  • A teenager, covered in tattoos, hangs out in a downtown park alone because he has nowhere to go. He feels alone and unloved.

  • Thousands of children seldom see their parents because the parents are working to have a place for their children to sleep. The children AND their parents feel alone and unloved.

I could go on and on!

No one should feel unloved!!! As Christians, our goal should be to share our love with others EVERYWHERE we go!!! EVERYWHERE!!!

I try to always have a smile for people that I pass. I try to look them in the eye and give them a smile. One day in an airport I did this to an older woman sitting in a wheelchair and she stopped me and thanked me, saying, “That’s the only friendly face I’ve seen today”. A simple smile made her feel loved. No one should feel unloved!

When we first moved to Houston, we were eating in a restaurant, and I looked up and saw an older woman eating by herself. I smiled at her, and she called me over. She thanked me for being friendly to her. We talked for a while about restaurants, and that was that. Several weeks later, I saw her there again, so I went up to speak to her. She told me her sister was in the hospital, and she was trying to take care of her. I stopped and prayed with her, and we exchanged names and phone numbers. A few weeks later, I saw her again. (Yes, the same restaurant…it’s yummy Italian food.) When I walked up, she said, “It’s Tami, my angel sent from God.” Now I’m not telling you this to pat myself on the back, I want you to know about Wanda. She’s alone. She eats alone. I prayed for opportunities to share Jesus, and I kept running into Wanda. I have thanked God for answering my prayer, and now I’m working to make sure that Wanda doesn’t feel unloved because no one should feel unloved.

1 John 2:15 tells us,

“Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

He is NOT talking about the people here. I’m afraid we have shut the world out of our lives because of their sin. John goes on to describe the “antichrist” in verse 22,

“Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.”

How are they ever going to understand the love of God if they never see it in the people around them? How are they ever going to know Jesus if we aren’t showing them Jesus?

Let’s go see what Jesus says in Matthew 25:35,

“For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.” Then the righteous ask, “When did we do those things for you?”

And Jesus replies in verse 40,

“Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.”

Then He turned to the unrighteous and went through the list again, but this time, He told them that they did NOT do those things for Him. They ask,

“When did we ever see you in one of those situations and not take care of you?” Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me. And these will go away into eternal punishment…”

Yikes!!! Those are strong words!

Jesus wants to use us!! We are His hands and His feet! We show His love through showing love to others! It can be as simple as a smile. No one should feel unloved! We wonder why sin seems to be in control of our world. Could it be because there are too many out there feeling unloved? Not only do they not understand the love of Jesus, they feel TOTALLY unloved. We can change that! If each of us will look up and reach out, we can make a difference. Pray about God using you! Pray that God opens your heart to have a genuine love for others! Pray for opportunities to share love and then share the love of Jesus! Pray that God sends you some “Wanda’s”! Then get ready because our God answers prayer! No one should feel unloved!!!
